Want a one-page version? Use the printable TPAD checklist, and see the teachers' calendar for the deadlines we know.
This guide was checked on 26 October 2026. It covers the login page, the 2026 deadlines and the errors teachers report most often. Where a detail could not be confirmed from an official source, we say so.
How to log in to TPAD and fill your appraisal
Follow these steps in order. Each one uses only what the login page and the 2026 reports show.
- Open the TPAD2 login page at https://tpad2.tsc.go.ke/auth/login.
- Type your TSC Number in the first box.
- Type your ID Number in the second box.
- Type your password, then sign in.
- Log in early and create your term appraisal. TPAD for Term One 2026 was activated, and teachers were expected to do exactly this.
- Keep your entries current as you go, rather than waiting for the deadline.

TSC wants teachers to keep their professional records up to date through the term. Several reports also show that the portal can time out, so save your progress often and keep a copy of anything long that you type.

What is the TPAD2 login page, and is it the same as TPAD 3?
The page you use today is TPAD2. TPAD 3 is planned, but it was not fully rolled out in Term One 2026. Teachers should not expect a TPAD 3 page to replace TPAD2 until TSC announces it.

Many searchers type "tpad 3 login" because they do not know which portal is live. News outlets say TSC has not officially announced the changes, so we cannot confirm when TPAD 3 will launch. Treat any TPAD 3 page as unconfirmed until the official TSC website says otherwise.
Older guides point to a different route. In a 2019 guide, teachers logged in through the login link at the top right of the TSC website.

Why does TPAD login keep failing?
Login failures are the most common complaint. School administrators reported repeated login failures, delayed responses and submissions that were not saved. Some teachers said they kept failing to log in.

During Term Two, teachers also reported slow servers, dashboards that would not open, time-outs and failures to save entries. Some users said the portal stopped responding after they had typed in their information, so they had to repeat the process.

Teachers and education stakeholders have asked TSC for system upgrades and quicker communication about technical problems. Until those come through, the practical answer is to log in early, keep your entries saved, and avoid leaving the appraisal until the last day.

What happens if I forget my TPAD password?
The login page has a Forgot Password link. Use it first.

The reset process itself is not confirmed. Guides disagree on whether the temporary password is sent by SMS, and whether it is your TSC Number or a random code. We could not confirm the procedure for a locked or reset account either. Check the official TSC website before you act on any reset message, and do not send your details to anyone who contacts you about a reset.
When are the TPAD deadlines for 2026?
TSC moved the Term Two deadline. It extended the TPAD deadline from August 14 to August 24, 2026, because of persistent system glitches. The extension came in a circular dated August 18, 2026, issued by the Director of Teacher Professional Management.

The Term Three portal opened three days after the extended Term Two deadline. TSC has directed heads of institutions to clear all pending appraisals within the new Term Two timeframe. The extension period also let teachers complete, submit and countersign their appraisal documents.

We could not find the Term Three appraisal deadline, or the mid-year and end-year stage dates for 2026, in any source we checked on 26 October 2026. Check the official TSC website for those dates before you plan your term.
Does an unfinished TPAD appraisal affect my promotion?
It can. TSC has warned that failing to complete TPAD can cost a teacher promotion opportunities. Teachers must finish their appraisals on time and have supervisors acknowledge them.

A satisfactory TPAD appraisal is one of the requirements for teachers applying for advertised promotion grades. A teacher's average TPAD rating over several years can also contribute to promotion scoring.

Every appraisal must pass through a verification and approval process. Heads of institutions must also complete and submit their own performance contracts within the set timelines.

What does the TPAD2 login page ask for?
The page is simple. It asks for three details, and it has two links below the form.

| ID Number | Input box |
| Password | Input box |

Do I need a national ID or passport to log in?
The login page we checked asks for an ID Number, and nothing else in that box. A third-party guide says a national ID or passport is needed, but we could not confirm that from the page itself. Use the ID Number the page asks for, and check the official TSC website if you are unsure.

How do I create a TPAD account for the first time?
The login page has a First time login link, so new users start there.

Some third-party guides say a first-time user creates an account and then activates it through an emailed link. We could not confirm this from an official source. Some pages also list raw IP address links for the login page. We could not confirm that these are official TSC addresses, so do not use them. Check the official TSC website before you start.
Some guides also describe which role tile to pick on the login page, such as Teacher or Deputy. That is not confirmed either, so follow what the official page shows you.
What evidence does TPAD need?
A rating alone is not enough. A 2026 report on the revised TPAD says ratings must be backed by evidence, that the revised framework reduces the teaching standards from five to four, and that it is being introduced in stages, so some accounts may still show the TPAD 2 layout. It also says lesson plans, teaching resources and assessment records should be kept up to date through the term, and that appraisal activities should be completed gradually, not at the deadline.

The TSC checklist of professional documents lists approved schemes of work, lesson plans, lesson notes and records of work as separate items, and says failing to keep them may lead to disciplinary action. It was reproduced on a news site that shows no date, so ask your head teacher which documents your school expects.
